Doodles

Doodles.... What are Doodles?

In my opinion they are one of the most fun, comical and loving dogs out there today. The doodles that I am talking about are the Labradoodle and Goldendoodle. I feel like society HAS taken the doodle to far in a sense that you can now get any kind of doodle. Some people, in my opinion, especially those in the dog breeding class, do not enjoy these dogs. Why is it? Is it because they are not a "registered" breed. I however encourage wonderful well meaning breeders of every breed. But, that being said there ARE a lot of well meaning doodle breeders out there. Breeders that are trying to enhance this breed to what it was meant for; hypoallergenic, non-shedding, smart, loyal, well tempered, service dogs! Again, with any breed, there are many breeders out there that are in it for the quick money. These doodle breeders seem to be the ones that just takes a lab/golden and a poodle and put them together calling them a Doodle. Not researching or being true to what a doodle is bred for. What they don't know is that true doodles are a mix of many different breeds (American Cocker Spaniel and English Cocker Spaniel as well as Irish Water Spaniel). As is any registered breed. Take a Doberman Pinscher they are a mix of German Shepherds with German Pinschers added Rottweilers, Black-and-Tan Terriers, and Greyhounds to make up this breed. So that being said, I see the doodle in kennel clubs history.

I have trained many doodles over my years, I've seen some true ones and not so true ones. What I can say about all of them is that they all have the drive to please, the quirkiness to keep you on your toes. I have one thing to say though, don't judge a dog before you get to know them!
